Project for the International Year Of Astronomy 2009

"Galileo Galilei's Telescopes"

The "Galileo Galilei's Telescope" project has been presented from "FOAM 13" in the  occasion of the International Year of Astronomy 2009 announced by the UNESCO. Antonio Paganoni, who is the responsible of the sundials in "FOAM 13", is the responsible of this project. Antonio Paganoni has built a faithful copy of the Galileo Galilei's Telescope used at the end of 1609.

Antonio Paganoni's work has been really hard and challenging cause the whole structure of the telescope, which has a 203mm diametre and a f/9 focal , is made with wood.

I'm really proud of having such  competent colleagues.

 First Sky 203mm - f/9:

The "First Sky" of the incredible telescope was on the terrace of the observatory the 13th November 2009 the quality of the lenses was immediately noticed and it was very easy to use, Saturn was very clear at 300 enlargements.

Second Step, building of the exact copy of Galileo Galilei's telescope:

You can easily see a bench on it.
