Pineta Park

In our logo we would like to remember the Pineta Park in which the observatory is.

The first letter of FOAM13 is green and in the grafic logo some green pines are highlighted.

but...........why did we want the location of the observatory  in the Pineta Park?

Because all the professional observatories are located in national parks.

A observatory’s  needs are usually the same needs of a natural park. The FOAM13 foundation will help the Park to guarantee the protection against deterioration and pollution (acoustic, chemical, luminous) and it  is going to contribute and to conserve intact the features of Park. So the inclusion of the observatory in the Pineta Park is a very important tool to preserve nature and to make the Park known. The observatory was born with the natural path which can be used by the disables too. Everybody can see on the big screen (in the assembly room) pictures and clips about nature and astronomy: for example the galaxies distant thousand milions of light years.

ANY  TREES must be cut near the observatory because trees have a double function: they produce a good atmosphere for observations and screen the light that come from Tradate and from others cities.

The photo on the right, that we executed with a 3 hours sitting, shows you how the screen of trees resolves the problem of luminous pollution.

This isn't possible for other observatories that have the same problem.

The photo on the left was executed by a satellite at night, over North Italy, where you can see and understand how Milan illuminates its suburbs, but over Pineta Park and Tradate the illumination is very different. Thanks to the trees protection the Pineta Park is one of the best zone in the Pianura Padana where you can make

ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATION!!!
