INTERNATIONAL   COLLABORATIONS

From the newspaper "LA PREALPINA"

While the the FOAM13 observatory is being finished (it is located in the natural Park Pineta of  Tradate), the FOAM13 foundation, that directs the observatory has already bought all the digital equipments for astronomical pictures. These new and modern equipments are going to be put on the main telescope of  the observatory FOAM13 and have been bought by  Tradate town council and by the Foundation Community of Varese. “All these equipments” explains Roberto Crippa, the president of  FOAM13 “needs a long time to become appropriate for the software and for the hardware. For this reason I asked to Mr Federico Manzini, member of the astronomical station in  Sozzago in the Piemonte region, if he could use our CCD digital cameras on his  Cassegrain telescope 40 centimetres , to test them. The agreement was about the study of  the variation of the asteroid brightness.

From this cooperation, the FOAM13 observatory and the astronomical station of Sozzago discovered that the 1139ATAMI  asteroid is double and  two new variable stars was discovered. Some important cooperations was born with observatories and universities, thanks to these discoveries.

ARECIBO RADIO TELESCOPE

The FOAM13 observatory cooperated with the Arecibo radiotelescope (thanks to Doctor S. Ostro ‘s help), to prove his discovery about the doubleness of 1139 ATAMI asteroid.

UNIVERSITY OF GENEVA

Joch Sphynx Jungfrau La Palma Observatory

Telescope 1,5 metres  in

La Palma

Telescope 1.8 metres in

La Silla  Ande Mountains  ESO

The FOAM13 foundation cooperates with the University of Geneva, (thanks to Doctor Raoul Behrend). This collaboration follows the research and the photometrical study about the asteroids and about double stars.

Goethe Link Observatory

Indiana Astronomical Society Built in 1937-1939 years It's located in a park with red maples

Restructured in  1978 New assembly in 1978 Reflector 90 centimetres.

The FOAM13 foundation cooperates with the University of Indiana, thanks to Doctor Donn Starkey (the correspondent), to study the variable stars.

It’s very interesting to discover that the 90 centimetres reflector, the Goethe Link Observatory, is the central part removed from the 5 metres reflector of mount Palomar, this 90 centimetres glass, was the most accurate reflector at that time, it was better than reflector of

Mount Palomar .

Astronomical Observatory of Brera

The Brera Observatory was inaugurated in 1770. The Brera Palace in which there were the Observatory at the beginning of 19th Century. Giovanni V. Schiaparelli (born in 1835-died in 1910)

In the Brera Observatory thanks to  Doctor Ghigo, you collaborate for  study of comets.

Department of Mathematics and Statistics

The Rolf Nevanlinna Institute is a research institute of Department of Mathematics and Statistics that concentrates on mathematics and statistics and their applications in various areas of science. We currently have three research groups in inverse problems, biomathematics and biometry. The research includes both theory and applications, bringing pure and applied mathematics and a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary scientific and industrial topics together. RNI has a wide collaboration network, including research contacts in industry and the public sector.

Three departments of the University of Helsinki, the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Statistics, and the Rolf Nevanlinna Institute, were united as the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the beginning of the year 2004.

The new department is located in the Kumpula Campus, but it has also premises in the City Centre Campus.

The FOAM13 established a collaboration with the  University of Helsinky ,particularly with the math and statistic department and the department that manages the observatory, for  tridimensional study of asteroids.

A special ESO software can find out the shape of an asteroid, it uses images taken in different times and with different photometrical parameters.

The cooperation is managed by Doctor Josef Durech.

The University of Helsinky manages the Observatory of Helsinky (founded in 1836) and it cooperates with ESO for studies and astronomical observations.

Palomar Observatory

The Friends of Palomar Observatory will take you on a journey across the universe. As a Friend you will be invited to special tours and events open only to members. You will also receive The Big Eye, an exclusive members-only newsletter about the current research, history, and educational outreach mission of Palomar Observatory.
The FOAM13 observatory collaborates with Mount Palomar Institute for the study and the research of  NOVAE and SUPERNOVAE.

The cooperation takes place thanks to the possibility to have photometrical datas and spectrums with the 5 metres telescope.

The cooperation can occur thanks to Doctor Douglas C. Leonard, who allows us to join in the exclusive club of the Mount Palomar observatory.
